One day Morris the Moose saw a cow.
一天, 麋鹿莫里斯看到了一只奶牛。
"You are a funny-looking moose." he said.
“你真是一只模样好笑的麋鹿。”莫里斯说道。
"I am a cow. I am not a MOOSE!" said the cow.
“我是奶牛，不是麋鹿！”奶牛回应道。
"You have four legs and a tail and things on your head," said Morris. "You are a mosse."
“你有四条腿，一条尾巴，头上还长了东西，”Morris说，“你就是一只麋鹿。”
"But I say MOO!" said the cow.
“但是我能哞哞地叫！”奶牛说。
"I can say MOO too!" said Morris.
“我也可以哞哞地叫呀！”莫里斯说。
The cow said," I give MILK to people."
奶牛说：“我可以产奶给人喝。”
"So you are a moose who gives milk to people!" said Morris.
“所以你是一只能产奶给人喝的麋鹿喽！”莫里斯说。
"But my mother is a cow!" said the cow.
“但是我的妈妈是只奶牛！”奶牛说。
"You are a MOOSE,"said Morris."So your mother must be a moose too!"
“你是只麋鹿，”莫里斯说，“所以你妈妈一定也是只麋鹿！”
"What can I tell you?" the cow said.
“你要我怎么跟你说？”奶牛说。
"You can tell me you are a moose,"said Morris.
“你可以跟我说你是只麋鹿啊。”莫里斯说。
"No!"cried the cow."I am NOT a moose! Ask him. He will tell you what I am."
“不！”奶牛大叫起来，“我不是麋鹿！问他，他会告诉你我是什么动物。”
"What is she?" Morris asked the deer.
“她是什么动物？”莫里斯问鹿。
The deer said, "She has four legs and a tail and things on her head. She is a deer, like me."
鹿回答说，“她有四条腿，一条尾巴，头上还长了东西。她是只鹿，就像我一样。”
"She is a MOOSE,like ME!" Morris yelled.
“她是只麋鹿！像我！”莫里斯大叫着。
"You? You are not a moose. You are a deer too!" The deer laughed.
“你？你不是麋鹿。你也是只鹿！”鹿笑着说。
"I am a MOOSE!" cried Morris.
“我是只麋鹿！”莫里斯叫喊着。
"You are a DEER!"shouted the deer.
“你就是只鹿！”鹿大声说道。
"What can I tell you?"asked Morris.
“你要我怎么跟你说呢？”麋鹿问。
"You can tell me you are a deer，" said the deer.
“你可以跟我说你是只鹿呀。”鹿说。
"Let's ask somebody else," said the cow.
“我们再问问其他动物吧，”奶牛说。
"Okay,Moose," said Morris the Moose.
“行， 麋鹿。”麋鹿莫里斯说。
"Okay,Deer," said the deer.
“可以， 鹿。”鹿说。
They walked until they found a horse.
他们一直往前走，然后发现了一匹马。
"Hello, you horses!" said the horse "What are those funny things on your heads?"
“你们好呀， 马儿们！”马说，“你们头上长了是什么好玩东西？”
"Oh，dear."The cow sighed.
“哦， 天哪。”奶牛叹了口气。
"Let's ask somebody else.But first let's get a drink."
“我们再换个动物问吧。 但是咱们得先找点水喝。”
Morris,the cow, and the deer drank from a cool, blue stream.
莫里斯，奶牛，还有鹿一起到了一条蓝蓝的小溪旁喝起了清凉的水。
Morris looked at himself in the water and smiled."You two do not look at all like me," he said."You cannot be moose."
莫里斯看到他在水中的倒影，笑了起来，“嘿！你们俩长得一点儿都不像我，”他说道，“你们不可能是麋鹿。”
"You mean, you are not DEER," said the deer. " You don't look at all like me."
“你是说，你不是只鹿，”鹿说，“你们也长得一点儿都不像我。”
"See?" said the cow.
“看到了吧？”奶牛说。
"I am not a moose or a deer. I am a COW! You make a MISTAKE."
“我不是麋鹿，也不是鹿。 我是一只奶牛！你们都犯了个MISTAKE（错误）。”
"I did not," said Morris. "I make a MOOSEtake!"
“我没有，”莫里斯说，“我犯的是MOOSEtake!”
