What a Peacock!
Once there was a peacock. She was very proud.
“I am the most beautiful peacock in the world.” she thought.
One day, she saw a giraffe.
“What a long neck! I want to have a long neck, too.” Then the peacock had a very long neck. She was very pleased. Then she saw a rooster.
“ What a shiny comb! I want to have a shiny comb.” Then the peacock had a very shiny comb and she was very happy.
Suddenly, the peacock saw an elephant.
“What big ears! I want to have big ears, too.” Then the peacock had two big ears. She was very glad.
Later, the peacock saw a hippo.
“What a wide mouth! I want to have a wide mouth, too.” Then the peacock had a wide mouth too.
At last, the peacock saw a panda.
“What a round face! I want to have a round face, too.” Then the peacock had a very round face. The peacock was very proud.
“Mum, mum. Look at me! How beautiful I am!” said the little peacock.
“ Who are you? Are you my child? No, I don’t know you at all.” said the mother peacock.
“Oh, no!” cried the little peacock.
“Go away, the long neck.”
“Go away, the shiny comb.”
“Go away, the big ears.”
“Go away, the wide mouth.”
“Go away, the round face.”
Now the little peacock’s mother said, “Well done! Here comes back my darling. Look, how beautiful you are!”
