Chinese warship evacuates 38 Chinese citizens, 45 Sri Lankans from Yemen China is evacuating the last group of Chinese nationals who sought to get out of conflict-ridden Yemen. 38 Chinese nationals together with 45 Sri Lankans have left Yemen's western port of al-Hodayda for Djibouti onboard a Chinese warship. China has already evacuated hundreds of its nationals and citizens of other countries from Yemen in recent days. Yemen is mired in a bloody conflict amid Saudi-led airstrikes on the Houthi militant group. UAE joins AIIB as founding member The United Arab Emirates has joined the Asia Infrastructure Investment Bank as a founding member. The Abu Dhabi Fund for Development will represent the UAE government on the AIIB's board of directors. At the same time, the Polish government says it has also set a letter of intent to join the AIIB as a founding member. More than 40 countries have signed up to be a part of the institution. The exact number of founding members will be confirmed on April 15th. The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank is going to be a financial institution meant to provide funding for infrastructure projects in Asia. Cold front to chill most parts of China A cold front is expected to sweep across China within the next two days, bringing strong winds and plunging temperatures from north to south. The National Meteorological Center says temperatures will fall by up to 10 degrees Celsius in Jiangsu, Guizhou and Guangxi. Heavy rain is forecast for Hunan, Guizhou and Guangxi, with some of these areas expecting rainstorms or hail. Two dead in NE China colliery flooding Two people have died after a coal mine flooded in northeast China's Heilongjiang Province. The accident occurred in Changfeng coal mine, in Qitaihe City. Eight miners were working underground at the time of the accident. Six of them managed to escape. Local officials say the mine's owner Yuan Changlong had attempted to conceal the accident, but locals reported it to local authorities. Yuan is now in police custody. Kenya airstrike Al-Shabab in Somalia It's being reported that Kenyan fighter jets have bombed positions of the al-Shabab militant group in Somalia in reponse to last week's Garissa University College attack. A Kenyan military source says the warplanes targeted two camps in the Gedo region, used by al-Shabab to cross into Kenya. This is seen as Kenya's response to an al-Shabab attack in Kenya last week, which killed 148 people. Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta has vowed to respond to the attack "in the severest way possible." S. Korea slams distorted Japanese textbooks over disputed islets South Korea has responded to new Japanese textbooks laying territorial claim to the disputed Dokdo islands, called Takeshima in Japan. South Korea's Foreign Ministry says it's another "provocation" by Japan, which distorted historical facts in its textbook for junior high school students. South Korea's unification ministry has also issued a statement in protest against the Japanese textbooks. Japan's Education Ministry has approved 18 textbooks on history, civics and geography that will be used as teaching materials from next year for middle schools. 13 of the textbooks stated that South Korea "has illegally occupied" the Dokdo islands. 17 people detained in Malaysia over terror plans Seventeen suspected militants have been detained by Malaysian police for planning terror activities in the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur. Malaysian police say two of the suspects have recently returned from Syria. Other details about the suspects are not available at this time. However it is not uncommon for radical Islamists from other parts of the world to travel to the Middle East to fight with Islamic State. Such individuals are often thought to return to their native countries for purposes of carrying out terrorist activities. S.Korean businessmen to visit Kaesong complex to discuss wage hike A group of 13 South Korean businessmen is expected to visit an inter-Korean factory park on Tuesday to discuss North Korea's unilateral decision to hike wages for its workers there. North Korea has demanded an over 5 percent wage increase for its workers at the Kaesong industrial complex. The new wage rate will go into effect on April 10th. The demanded increase surpasses the 5 percent ceiling that South Korea set as a guideline for wage increases. Some 120 South Korean companies are operating factories and hiring about 53,000 North Korean workers at the complex. Britain's Prince Harry arrives in Australia for month-long military duty Britain's Prince Harry has arrived in Australia to begin his month-long assignment with the Australian Defense Force. Prince Harry first visited the Australian War Memorial in Canberra before reporting to duty at the Royal Military College. He was greeted by Australian Governor General Sir Peter Cosgrove, along with the Chief of the Australian Defence Force Mark Binskin, in front of the War Memorial gate. Prince Harry's assignment in Australia will be one of his last tours of duty before leaving the British Army in June after a 10-year military career.
