New North American figures are suggesting the latest Melissa McCarthy film, "The Boss," is poised to push "Batman Vs Superman" out of the number one spot at the box office this weekend.
Projections have "The Boss" pulling in 24.5-million US dollars on Friday and Saturday, just surpassing "Batman Vs Superman's" 23.3-million dollar haul.
"Batman Vs Superman" had been topping the North American box office for the past two weekends.
"The Boss," which came out on Friday, has McCarthy playing the role of an industry titan who tries to stage a public relations comeback after being sent to prison for insider trading.
Should the numbers hold, this would be McCarthy's 3rd straight number-1 weekend opening for her films, following "Identity Thief" and "Spy."
