1. 逗号 (comma) ,
In English you need to use a word like "and" or "but" to join the simple sentences.
英语需要有像and, but这样的连接词连接句子。
2. 句号 (period) .
e.g. We haven’t so much to talk about. Period.
我跟你无话可说。
英文实心，中文空心。
We use the same symbol at the end of an abbreviation, such as Mr., Ms., Mrs. etc., and so on.
英文中的缩写符号和句号是同一符号，比如Mr.、 Ms.、Mrs.等等。
3. 问号 (question mark) ?
A question mark is used at the end of a
direct question. Be careful not to use it at the end of an indirect question.
问号要用在一个直接的问句中，而不是间接的句子。
e.g. How did she make the cookies?
e.g. I wonder how she made the cookies.
4. 冒号 (colon) :
冒号用的比较多的就是列举。
e.g. When I go shopping, I will look for the following things: jeans, a shirt, and a jacket.
5. 分号 (semicolon) ;
semi 一半
英文中经常与连接副词 thus, however, therefore一起使用，并放在这些词语之前。
e.g. I plan to go hiking tomorrow; therefore, I will stay home and prepare today.
e.g. I realize I need exercise; however, I’ll lie down first to think about
it.
6. 引号 (quotation mark)
Quotation marks are used when we are writing and we quote what someone says.
e.g. He said, “It’s time to go home.”
single quotation mark 单引号 ‘ ’
double quotation mark 双引号 “ ”
air quotes 空气引号，用手比划出来的引号。
7. 省略号 (ellipsis) …
中文在行中，英文在底行。
中文省略号是六个点，英文是三个点，当省略号在句末的时候，应该打四个点，最后一个为句号。
8. 感叹号 (exclamation mark) !
9. 破折号 (dash) -
破折号的两边应该加上空格。
10. 连接号 (hyphen) -
连接号和破折号的区别是，连接号的两头不用空格。
连接号通常用来连结字母和单词、词根词缀和单词。
e.g. mother-in-law 婆婆、岳母
e.g. ex-husband 前夫
11. 邮箱名称下划线 (underscore) _
12. 括号 (brackets) ( )

<> angle brackets
We use italics to show that something is a name, for example the name of a book or movie.
英文的书名、报刊名、电影名等不用书名号，一般用斜体字表示。

所有格 e.g. the baby&`&s toy, my sister’s dress
缩写 e.g. let’s=let us / I&`&ve=I have
名字中 e.g. M’bemba
